WE had some friends to stay last weekend. On Sunday, I took them for a walk down Bath Road, through Diglis and along to the main river bridge. Then it was down Bromwich Parade, past Lower Wick and on to the River Teme.
Naturally curious, my guests asked me about various landmarks, so the Battle of Worcester inevitably cropped up. Being very much an amateur historian of sorts, I traced the action as it unfolded on the Powick Hams.
Therefore, I'm happy to say that Worcester aviation writer Dilip Sarkar's Battle of Worcester Working Group reported back to the council yesterday.
I've always thought that Worcester could make a lot more of the part it played in the creation of modern Britain.
