A FINE morning last Tuesday brought large numbers for the Powick Parish Ramblers' four-mile walk around Whitbourne. A total of 19 adults, two boys and two dogs started from the Wheatsheaf Inn on the A44 Bromyard Road and followed the Sapey Brook onto the Whitbourne Estate and its farmland.
Whitbourne Hall was built by the Victorian Evans family, producer of vinegar in Worcester. The estate is still owned and farmed by the family and is involved in Riding for the Disabled.
At the end of the walk, Joy and Phil Bunyan were thanked for leading and refreshment was taken in the Wheatsheaf.
The next walk is on Tuesday, March 7 at 10am from St Wulstan's Nature Reserve. The five-and-a-half mile walk, via St Wulstan's Church, Little Malvern Priory and Castlemorton, will be led by Rita de Boer (01905) 830256.
Gget your tickets for Mad March Capers at Powick Parish Hall on Sunday, March 4 at 7.30pm. The New Rope String Band will entertain. Set in cabaret style, there will be nibbles and a bar. Tickets are £7 adults, £3 child from Jim Allsopp (01905) 830746 or Roger Gurney (01905) 830756 or any member of the parish hall management committee.
