I HAVE lived in Malvern for over 50 years and have, with my family, enjoyed many outings on the hills.
Now that I am in my 90s and incapacitated, I do not expect to be transported to the top of the hills. One expects to have to give up certain activities and this, for me, includes going to the top of the Beacon.
I should be very sorry indeed if I thought that mechanised transport in any form were to be introduced, thus spoiling for others the quiet ascent on foot which I myself have enjoyed in times past.
I do not wish to deprive the genuinely physically handicapped and would suggest that for this category of persons, a specially adapted bus or a car service could be run up the Beacon Road from the Wyche Cutting.
For others there are several beautiful level walks on the West Malvern side.
