SATISFIED customers around the Malvern Hills have just three days left to get their nominations in for the Platinum Business Awards.

The annual awards ceremony recognises excellence among local businesses but this is the first year the public will be able to nominate in the Customer Service Excellence Category.

They can nominate companies that provide outstanding customer service and the winner will be announced at an Oscars-style evening in Malvern Theatres.

Simon Rusling, Malvern Hills District Council's community and economic development officer, said: "It's a great chance for businesses to network and make contacts."

As well as customer service there are several other categories including arts excellence retail and tourism.

There is also a category for new businesses, an award for innovative companies, plus two awards for general business excellence.

Each winner receives a plaque, the right to use the Platinum awards logo on stationary, as well as one year's membership of The Malvern's Experience.

The overall winner also gets a cheque for £500.

The awards, run by Malvern Hills District Council in association with the Malvern Gazette, will be announced on April 12.

Members of the public can nominate at the Malvern Hills Customer Service Centre on 01684 862151. Businesses can enter by visiting www.malvernhills.gov.uk/ platinumawards or by calling 01684 862151.

The closing date is Monday (February 27).
