YOUNG Sam Mitchell helped Worcester's senior men to one of the best results in the athletic club's history.
Mitchell was first home overall in the Birmingham Cross-country League as both the 'A' and 'B' teams won their groups.
They were both promoted as a result with Mitchell also clinching the under 17 league title.
Final positions, 'A' team: Mitchell (first), Anthony Wilson (10th), Paul Childs (13th), team captain Mark Hill (18th), Stefan Sternkopf (19th), Andy Wire (25th); 'B' team: Laurence Fowkes (28th), Pete Richardson (55th), Mick Monaghan (98th), Terry Beddington (105th), Jeff Aston (120th), Chris Crosswell (131st).
Worcester meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm at Nunnery Wood Sports Centre.
