PUPILS and teachers from a Pershore school will be attending lessons in their pyjamas next month as they raise much-needed money for St Richard's Hospice.
Youngsters from Pershore Pre-School, part of Cherry Orchard First School, in Cherry Orchard Road, are taking part in the second annual PJ Day next Friday in an event which has been organised by Radio Wyvern following last year's success.
The first PJ Day last year raised around £9,000 for the charity that looks after cancer sufferers and those with long-term illnesses.
It is hoped that if enough people get involved this year that figure can be improved.
Pre-school assistant Maggie Lyons found out about the campaign on the internet and put the idea to her supervisor who was happy to get involved.
She said: "When I found out about PJ Day it sounded a lot of fun and in the process we would be raising money for St Richard's in Worcester.
"I expect the children and teachers to turn up in their pyjamas and maybe even some fluffy slippers after making their donations," she said. To get involved in PJ Day call Radio Wyvern on 01905 763963.
