A FATHER and daughter will sing on the same stage when Malvern Male Voice Choir performs at Holy Trinity Church, Link Top.
Guest soloist on Saturday, March 4, is soprano Emma Burrows, daughter of choir secretary Gordon Burrows.
Emma, aged 22, sang her first solo when she was five. While a pupils at The Chase, she was a soprano leader of the a cappella choir and went on to study music at Bath Spa University, finishing her degree course last year. She now hopes to pursue postgraduate studies in London.
Also performing during the two-hour programme is Holy Trinity's own junior choir.
Charles Pavey, conductor of the male voice choir said: "There will be music from both sides of the Atlantic, spirituals and musicals, some serious stuff and the not-so-sensible, and Wales gets a look-in, being four days after St David's Day."
Tickets are £5 (£2.50 for under-18s), available at the church. Refreshments will be available. The choir is also on the lookout for sponsorship to help cover costs. Proceeds will go to church funds.
The concert is the first in the choir's North Malvern Series, which continues on April 1 at St Peter's Church, Cowleigh Bank. This will feature male voice choir favourites and instrumental music old and new.
The series continues on April 28 at St Joseph's Church, Newtown Road, in support of St Michael's Hospice, featuring soprano Sue Black.
