MALVERN Town put their recent poor run behind them on Tuesday to collect three Midland Alliance points at Cradley.

CRADLEY TOWN 1, MALVERN TOWN 3

League leaders Malvern had most of the play in a lacklustre first-half, but failed to create many chances.

Ten minutes into the second period, Malvern gained a corner and centreback Marc Burrows flicked a near-post kick into the net.

The goal saw Malvern well in control and leading goalscorer Mark Owen missed a good chance to increase their lead but he made amends soon after when he slid the ball home in the 70th minute to make it 0-2.

In the 89th minute, Malvern conceded a corner and although Nick Clayton appeared to head a Mark Smith effort off the line, the linesman signalled for a goal and it was 1-2.

From the restart, Malvern made it 1-3 when late substitute Duncan Willetts scored.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Malvern Town welcome Studley (3pm) to Langland Stadium and on Tuesday, play the postponed home fixture against high-flying Romulus (7.45pm).
