A BROADWATERS couple say their lives are being made a "living hell" by youths who are destroying their property and hurling verbal abuse at them in the street.
Andrew Howell and Lisa Robinson, of Upton Road, said they were being tormented by youths, aged between 16 and 18, who were throwing eggs and stones at their windows and had damaged their car on numerous occasions since they moved into their home three years ago.
Miss Robinson, who also has a four-year-old daughter, said, at one point, she was too afraid to go outside her own home for fear of harassment and her mental health had deteriorated as a result.
She was pursuing her case with Wyre Forest Community Housing, which owns the property, and the police but felt she was getting nowhere.
She said: "Our lives are being made a living hell by these youths. We have told the police and the council but nothing is being done about it.
"They are told to move on but they still come back.
"I think other people are suffering in the street but they are particularly targeting us because we have stood up to them.
"Now we can't go outside the house without them shouting verbal abuse at us and I'm too afraid to even let my daughter play in the front garden. It got to a point where I was too afraid to go outside the house and I felt like a prisoner in my own home."
Wyre Forest East beat manager, PC Bob Fearnall, said they were aware of the allegations and were gathering evidence about people they believed might be involved.
He added: "The issue of anti-social behaviour was raised at the first Partners and Communities Together - PACT - meeting for the Broadwaters area on February 2.
"West Mercia Constabulary takes anti-social behaviour extremely seriously and has pledged action."
Community housing spokeswoman, Fiona Law said: "We're continuing to work in partnership with the police to tackle incidents of anti-social behaviour throughout the district and will not hesitate to take action against any perpetrators who are found to be tenants of The Community Housing Group."
