KIDDERMINSTER firsts virtually assured their survival in the West Midlands Premier Division with a hard fought 2-2 draw at local rivals Evesham.

Evesham started the brighter of the two sides and despite determined defending from Kidderminster the hosts took the lead.

Kidderminster were back on level terms minutes later when Andy Pocknell scored after good play by Paul Edwards and Joe Sorrell.

Despite losing Chris Bagley through injury, Kiddermi-nster took the lead after the break when Pocknall converted a penalty stroke after Paul Grummitt was fouled.

Evesham fought back and found an equaliser from a controversial short corner which they clinically depatched.

There was no arguing with the finish though, a superb drag flick going into the top left corner.

With their losing streak halted, Kidderminster entertain Droitwich at King Charles I High school at 1.30pm on Saturday.

Kidderminster thirds dominated from start to finish put made hard work of seeing off Market Drayton during their 2-1 win.

Goals from Neil Jackson and Richard Maw were enough to seal the victory which keeps them at the top of the league.

Veteran defender Peter Grummitt earned the man of the match award.

The thirds have a friendly at Kings Heath on Saturday.

Stourport seconds showed wonderful powers of recovery to win 5-4 after coming from 4-1 down.

Dave Westhead and Dave Knott both bagged braces and Max Totney also notched in the win which lifts them to third in the Midlands Premier Second Team League.

The seconds visit Beeston on Saturday.

Alan Moss was on target as Stourport fourths won 1-0 at Shrewsbury to stay clear at the top.

They visit Cannock on Saturday.

Stourport fourths lost 4-1 to Cannock with Dave Potter grabbing their consolation goal.
