BEWDLEY Town Reserves' defensive problems cost them dear as they lost 3-2 to Penkridge town in West Midlands League division two.

With players missing they struggled to adapt to a new formation at the back and were behind after three minutes.

They regrouped and drew level on 25 minutes with a Dan Franklin curler.

Bewdley even took the lead just before the break when Penkridge failed to clear a corner and Jan Mulders slotted home the loose ball.

But Richard Downey's men were hit by two quick goals on 75 and 77 minutes and suffered a defeat which leaves them in mid-table.

Captain Neil Osborne covered every blade of grass while Grant Barlow did a great job at sweeper.
