FURTHER to Councillor Jamie Shaw's letter in the Shuttle/Times & News on February 9, and as one of the members of the public who objects strongly to the closure of the footpath across Areley Kings recreation ground, I would like to add that the local council's action, in my view, is now clearly illegal.
The path is amply documented as a public right of way by the county council, and we could surely expect that our local elected representatives would insist on the removal of the barrier which now prevents free use of the path.
