Pershore II 0, Stafford II 1
IT WAS perhaps inevitable that a poor game would be decided by a single and fortuitous goal.
Minutes before half-time, Tony Groves' defensive efforts to prevent a Stafford shot instead turned the ball into his own net.
Try as they might, neither side was able to create anything further and Stafford ran out victors by the narrowest of margins.
Redditch III 8, Pershore III 0
AFTER a good start to 2006, Per-shore have returned to earth with a bump.
A weakened side struggled against high-flying Redditch and their task was made even harder when Rob Handley was injured and taken to hospital after only five minutes.
The ten men were overrun for the remainder of the game as a confident Redditch side scored goals at regular intervals.
Despite the scoreline, none of the Pershore players gave up and showed excellent spirit against all the odds. The losers will look to put the disappointment of this result behind them for this week's game against Evesham.
