A LATE strike from Simon Judge earned Pershore Town three Midland Combination first division points last Saturday.
The King George's outfit overcame a couple of lapses at the back that twice allowed the section's bottom side to equalise and the win leaves Town in confident mood ahead of Saturday's home clash with leaders Atherstone Town.
Mark Gledhill and Tim Beattie combined for Judge to give Pershore a second minute lead last weekend but Star levelled before half-time after which the hosts continued to dominate.
Curtis Major had earlier replaced the injured Mark Bellamy and it was another recent recruit Matty Edwards whose free-kick provided Beattie with the chance to nod in his side's second.
The visitors again broke away to make it 2-2 but Chris Wright's header down three minutes from time was swept into the net by Judge.
Minutes earlier goalkeeper Jamie Lambert had performed miracles to keep out a Star effort and that save proved crucial as the winners leapt several places up the ladder.
Manager Andy Robbins, in addition to bringing in several new faces, has also completed his backroom set-up.
Joining the former Littleton boss at King George's are Tim Davies, who will act as assistant manager and Dean Speake, who has been brought in as coach.
Pershore will be bidding to reach a cup final next Tuesday evening when they play host to Bromsgrove Rovers Reserves in the Worcester Infirmary Cup.
Robbins will be hoping Andy Hodgetts decides to stay at the club after a seven-day approach from Stourport Swifts.
