I write in response to your article about Mr Heppenstall threatening to take Wychavon District Council to court - for the sake an extra black rubbish bag!
I find it hard to sympathise with his case. Two black bags per week is ample for most households. He either has an exceptionally large family or is not recycling adequately. If he needs more bags, it is reasonable for him to have to buy his own. If Mr Hepplestall pursues his ridiculous threat and genuinely cannot afford a couple of pounds for a roll of 50 bags - then I offer to personally deliver a roll to his doorstep. After all, if he puts out extra bags, he can be assured that they will be taken away - I have never heard of collectors refusing to take an extra black bag. If as he says, he supports the recycling policy, then he should be trying to reduce his rubbish. In my opinion WDC are doing a great job with our waste and are now considering extending the recycling service to outlying villages - a much better use of our money. Mr Hepplestall's complaint is totally unreasonable.
