I COULD not help but have a little laugh to myself when I read about Mr John Heppenstall of Eastside, North Littleton, complaining about being supplied with two black sacks each week free of charge by Wychavon District Council.
I would like to suggest to Mr Heppenstall that he should move to Chipping Campden he would find a big difference, firstly we buy all our black bags, and until the last nine months when we were issued with green wheelie bins for garden waste only, (which have been a god-send) we had to pay 35p each for green bags to put the garden waste in.
Now that Cotswold District Council have given us the wheelie bins at no cost to us, they have put a charge on bulk collection of £14 for two items and a further £5 for each other item, and that's the main reason why bulk items like fridges, cookers, mattresses, etc are finishing up in hedgerows, so on the whole Mr Heppenstall I don't think you're so hard done by. I wish you all the best if you take Wychavon to court but I would think twice about it or move to Chipping Campden.
MALCOLM THOMAS, OAP, Berrington Road, Chipping Campden.
