ATHLETES from Worcestershire Special Olympics were given awards for excelling at the club's presentation evening at the Spadesbourne Suite.AWARD WINNERS: Michelle Banner, Danielle Parkes, Ben O'Brien, Richard Murphy, Adam Smith and Adam Hodgson were winners at Worcestershire Special Olympics' awards evening.
Nearly two hundred people, made up of athletes, family and friends attended the event.
Vice chairman Niall Murphy and co-host Andrew McIlvaney presented the winners with their awards.
Four athletes from Bromsgrove were presented with awards. Lickey End's Richard Murphy was a double winner, receiving the male athlete of the year and club champion of the year awards. Adam Smith was runner-up in the club champion category.
Bromsgrove's Ben O'Brien won awards for being the most improved athlete and footballer, while Adam Hodgson and was give the Master award. Frankley's Danielle Parks was presented with the Bromsgrove Sports Awards for her outstanding performances at tournaments in Glasgow and the European Championships in the Czech Republic.
Charford's Daniel Williams was presented with the team managers' award.
Murphy said: "Everyone at Worcestershire Special Olympics works very hard but those who have been given awards have really excelled."
