STUDLEY manager Kevin Rowlands has paid tribute to keeper Jamie Atkins after the youngster kept a clean sheet on his debut.
The Bees drew 0-0 with Oadby Town at the weekend with the Moor Green topper stepping in to the line-up at the last minute.
"He was superb," Rowlands said. "We were without a keeper on Saturday morning but it all worked out well in the end."
Regular keeper Craig Johnson agreed to a move to Southern League side Sutton Coldfield Town during the week leaving the Bees boss struggling to fill the gap.
"I was disappointed with Craig's decision and attitude but that is all history now," Rowlands said.
Moor Green have said we can have Jamie until the end of the season and we have probably ended up with a keeper who is better than the one we had. Maybe it will teach Craig a bit of a lesson.
Studley held on for a draw against their Leicestershire visitors despite having Simon Fitter sent off early in the second half.
The Bees head to league leaders Malvern Town on Saturday (ko 3pm) and a meeting with former Studley defender Andy Smith.
And although the Worcestershire promotion hopefuls have won just once in their last five game, Rowlands will not be taking them lightly.
"They are going to be like a wounded animal and will be looking to restore their title hopes."
