BARNT Green Spartak kept on the trail for silverware by edging Coventry Copsewood in the Endsleigh Challenge Cup on Saturday.
Kevin Brooked bagged the winner late on to make sure that Barnt Green booked their place in the cup's quarterfinals.
Spartak will now meet their rivals for the Midland Combination Premier Division title Atherstone Town in a testing last eight encounter on Wednesday, February 22 (7.45pm kick off).
Jae Martin had put Spartak ahead in the first half, when his free kick deflected past the goalkeeper.
Spartak were pulled level early in the second half when Sean McCallum pounced on a mix-up between defender Neil Ward and goalkeeper Kenny Sanders.
Brookes made sure that Spartak had the last laugh when he headed Martin's cross into the back of the net in the 80th minute and set up a mouth watering cup clash.
l Spartak's title hopes in the Premier Division have increased. Leaders Atherstone Town lost their first game of the season when Pilkington XXX edged them 1-0.
Barnt Green slipped to third in the table after Coventry Copsewood defeated Meir KA 5-3. Spartak will be aiming to regain some momentum in the Premier Division when they take on Bolehall Swifts on Saturday, February 25 (2.45pm kick off).
