Bartley Green 1 Droitwich Spa 1
DROITWICH more than matched high-flying Bartley Green to come away with a point in the Midland Combination Division Two on Saturday.
Andy Pheasant grabbed a spectacular equaliser to ensure precious point for the relegation battlers.
Droitwich had a tentative first half and conceded a goal on the stroke of half time.
Spa came out determined in the second half and Pheasant scored a deserved equaliser when he curled a free kick into the back of the net.
Manager Tom Goss said: "Their goal was the best thing that happened to us. It really fired us up and we came out and looked good in the second half.
"You have to give the players credit, they took on one of the best team's in the league and gave them a good game."
Droitwich go to Coton Green on Saturday, February 25 still missing a number of players through injury.
Roger Denby, Matt Moreton, Andy Keenahan and Mark Burrows are all unavailable.
