Juniors: AN excellent display of kicking from Jamie Randall helped Alcester u16s to a 28-11 victory over Coventry side Barkers Butt.

It was Randall who handed his side an early lead with a penalty and the home side continued to have the better of the half as they opened up an 18-6 lead at the break.

Both sides had a player sin binned in the first period but Alcester continued to dominate after the restart adding a converted try and a penalty.

George Ball scored two tries for the home side with Ross Waterhouse adding the other. Randall kicked two conversions and three penalties in addition to finding touch under pressure.

Coach Grant Skidmore praised the strong play from the forwards which gave the Alcester backs their chances.

Oliver Tabor was named man of the match for his superb tackling and mobility around the pitch.

Alcester's u14s took an early lead against Barkers Butts when Adam Beech went over for a try.

But that was as good as it got as Butts began to take charge of the game on their way to a 58-5 victory.

Alcester's man of the match was Phil Hurlston.

Alcester's u13s were soon under pressure in their match and despite tight defence soon conceded a try.

The visitors opened up a 12-0 lead at the break and then scored three more tries in the second half before Alcester went close to a consolation try when good work from Chris Bates, Ben Hope and Jack Green resulted in the latter's kick ahead bouncing into touch just short of the line.

Barkers ran out 33-0 winners with the man of the match award being shared by Spencer Lunn and Arthur Tabor for their excellent tackling.

n Redditch u13s recorded their first win of the season with a close 7-5 victory over Malvern.

The match was won with a fine try from Adam Masters while James Leatherland was man of the match for his strong running. Nathan Rubery also deserved a mention for his countless big tackles.

A fine attacking performance saw Redditch u12s produce a convincing display to beat Malvern 56-24.

There was a hat-trick from Tom Dalton and debutant Jeremy Jezza also scored a treble to earn the man of the match award.

Redditch u10s played host to two teams from Ledbury and the home side lost the matches 15-0 and 15-5. Man of the match awards went to Oliver Morris and Connor Stokes.

n Kings Norton Rhinos beat Yardley & District 12-10, James Shore leading the way with a brace of fine solo efforts in the first half.

Despite a spirited comeback by Yardley, the Rhinos' defence was just good enough to hold out for an excellent result.
