PRESIDENT Barbara Maskell welcomed everyone to the February meeting.

The evening started with the notices for the month including the annual council meeting on Tuesday, March 21, at the Forum Theatre, Malvern, at 10.30am. The speaker will be Ann Widdecombe MP.

There is will be a talk by Bernard Pumfrey at Chaddesley Corbett Village Hall on Thursday, April 27, on 'Royal residences'. The cost is £15 to include a three course lunch.

Barbara reported a very enjoyable evening on January 28. Our New Year dinner was most successful with good company, food and entertainment.

We are holding a fashion show in the village hall on Wednesday, April 19. The cost is £5 per head to include a glass of wine. Tickets are now available.

The first craft evening had been held and Christine Hickman-Smith said that a start had been made on the 'touch' book for children without sight. Further evenings are arranged and members are asked to contact Christine for details.

Our speaker was Madeleine Gould. She had moved into a new home 25 years ago and inherited two peacocks. Madeleine then related many incidents both amusing and informative of the following 25 years rearing many generations of peacocks.

The next meeting is on Wednesday, March 1, in the village hall at 7.30pm. Simon Cleaver is giving a talk on the restoration of four back-to-back houses in Birmingham.
