CAMPAIGNERS are gearing up for this weekend's protest march against proposed cuts to local health services.
Hundreds of people are expected to take part in Saturday's march through Bromsgrove town centre, in a bid to fight a range of proposals including the downgrading of the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, and threats to the Brook Haven Mental Health unit.
The protest, organised by the Save the Alex group will begin at 11am outside Woolworths in Bromsgrove High Street, where town MP Julie Kirkbride will address campaigners.
The planned route will see protesters head down Church Street, around ASDA supermarket, before heading down Recreation Road and back down the High Street.
Chairman of the Save the Alex group Neil Stote said: "We urge all to join the protest this Saturday.
"We have to make ourselves heard before it's too late.
"Local health care does not equal a 50-mile round trip."
