TWO former MG Rover workers from Droitwich Spa have set up their own business following the collapse of the Longbridge firm.
Kim Johnson and Tim King, who used to work for MG Sport and Racing, are the men behind Full Throttle Racing.
The business is based in Clydesdale Road, Droitwich Spa, and caters for fellow MG owners and enthusiasts.
As you would expect from the company name and the pair's competition history, ex-Austin apprentices Kim and Tim can provide MG owners with a specialist service and anything from an XPower sticker to full race preparation.
The Droitwich-based duo have also designed and produced custom parts for modern MGs, which include door pockets for the MGF/TF sports car and a gas strut conversion to allow an MGF bonnet to be opened with one hand. An impressive quad exit exhaust to maximise the street-cred of a MGZR/Rover 200 is also currently undergoing trials.
The company showed off its wares and latest creations on a stand at Stoneleigh MG spares day last Sunday. Tim, who was the PR manager for MG Sport and Racing, said: "Losing our jobs last year was obviously a huge blow, but we have received good support from government agencies helping us build a website and provide business information."
