Redditch United 1 Hinckley United 1
AN OWN goal from Hinckley defender Leigh Platnauer deep in injury time handed Redditch their second draw in four days.
But it was no more than the Valley Stadium side deserved as they dominated for much of the game.
Redditch's lowest crowd of the season witnessed a sorry first half that saw the home side in control without ever really testing Hinckley keeper Danny Haystead.
The best chance of the opening 45 minutes came late on when Craig Wilding picked out Rory May but Platnauer denied him with a timely challenge.
May should have opened the scoring on the hour but his weak shot was blocked by the keeper's feet.
Four minutes later Wilding raced on to an Ian King through ball but pushed his effort wide of the target.
It seemed as though it would only be a matter of time before the Reds made the breakthrough but instead it was the visitors who found the net on 67 minutes, Kyle Storer firing home from close range following a ball across goal from substitute Matty Lewis.
The final stages saw Redditch blitz the visitors' goal. Simon Hollis, on as a second half replacement, had an effort cleared off the line while Wilding had a headed 'goal' cancelled out for offside.
With 87 minutes gone, Hollis shot wide after keeper Haystead failed to collect a high ball into the area and moments later Wilding had an effort blocked after more frantic Hinckley defending.
The equaliser finally came five minutes into injury time. Carl Palmer drilled a cross into the area and Platnauer steered the ball into the net.
United debutant Steve Palmer had the ball in the net two minutes later but that effort was also disallowed.
