A FORMER MG Rover employee from Southcrest has turned his talents to teaching maths after losing his job last year.
Keith Thomas is now training to teach maths after being made redundant when the Longbridge plant closed in April 2005.
The 58-year-old, who had worked at Rover for 24 years, is now on a teacher training course at Newman College of Higher Education in Birmingham and is expected to qualify as a teacher of maths within a year.
"The thought of being back in a learning environment with a group of 20-year-old students terrified me more than the prospect of standing in front of a class full of kids," he added.
