VICTIMS of violent crime shared their views on how the police can improve its response to such incidents at a meeting in Redditch.

The meeting was in response to a random questionnaire sent out to people who had suffered a violent crime, asking them how they thought police could improve their service.

It was held at Redditch Town Hall on February 7.

Chief Insp Angela Burnet, of Redditch police, said: "From the response to surveys we have identified that the practical help offered by officers and how well victims were kept informed regarding the progress of the inquiry were significant features in how satisfied they were with our actions overall.

"There were some very important points raised at the meeting. We have learned a great deal from the discussion and it is helping us to identify ways in which we can improve our service in the future.

"We would like to thank all of the victims who took part for their very valuable feedback."
