A SALFORD Priors man died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS), an inquest heard.

Mark Andrews, 37, of St Matthew's Close, was found dead in his kitchen by his sister, Jane Andrews, and her partner on Monday, November 21, 2005, at about 7pm.

The court heard how Mr Andrews, who had a history of schizophrenia and suffered from depression and anxiety, was regularly visited by his sisters.

He was last seen alive by neighbour Angela Lee on the Friday before he was found dead.

A post mortem was carried out and Dr Scott Sanders, a consultant pathologist at Warwick Hospital, said no alcohol or drugs were found in the blood.

Paracetamol was detected but only at a therapeutic level.

Dr Sanders told the court the main findings of the autopsy showed vomit in the airwaves, profound pulmonary congestion and fluid on the lungs but he added the cause of death remained in doubt.

"In effect this is sudden, unexpected adult death which implies his heart stopped for some unknown reason," said Dr Sanders.

Warwickshire coroner Michael Cocker recorded a verdict of natural death caused by SADS and blocked airways. He confirmed Mr Andrew's history of mental health problems was in no way connected to his death.
