A COUPLE from Severn Stoke are about to very special celebrate a wedding anniversary.
Molly and Norman 'Tips' Broughton, who are both in their eighties, will mark 60 married years with a family party on Sunday.
They tied the knot on February 20, 1946, and have lived in Knightshill, Severn Stoke, for the last 56 years.
Mr Broughton, originally from Yorkshire, and Mrs Broughton, originally from Brighton, were both posted to Malvern during the war.
They met in a hostel in Geraldine Road, where they were both staying.
According to Mr Broughton, the secret to a happy marriage is just two words: "Yes Dear". He also thinks that a sense of humour helps.
"We have had, like everyone, our ups and downs.
"It's not the same these days, you get married and divorced as soon as anything goes wrong."
Mr and Mrs Broughton have two children, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren to keep them young.
