THERE have been a number of comments made recently in the Malvern Gazette regarding the Worcestershire Royal Hospital. May I please add my observations.
I was admitted as an emergency patient very late on Saturday, January 14. I was taken first to the medical assessment unit, where I stayed until Sunday. Then I was transferred to Avon 3 to a single ward where I stayed for another two days.
In both of those wards I found the staff extremely helpful and very professional and I have already written to the chief executive to ask him to pass on my thanks to all of the staff who were involved. I have no complaint of any sort regarding my treatment.
One comment I would make however regards the medical cover in Malvern on that particular weekend. I do not think that it was adequate and, in my view, needs to be improved. It took too long to receive the treatment that was required.
