A PAIR of county pool aces are hoping to pot their way to glory at the forthcoming European Eight-ball Championships in Bordeaux, France.
Marc Evans, of Worcester, and Malvern's Andy Jones will be representing Wales as they take on the cream of the continent's players in the week-long competition that starts tomorrow.
The determined duo, who practice regularly at Suzy Q's in Shrub Hill, are confident of tasting success in France after a string of impressive performances.
This year's event will be their third European Championships, having reached the final and quarter-finals with Wales when the tournament was staged in Jersey and Malta respectively.
Evans said: "We definitely want to win the title and I think we can achieve that.
"If we all play to the best of our abilities, I am sure we can win it."
Both players will be representing the Wales 'B' team in the five-a-side event.
And they are in good form, having reached the final of the Home Internationals in Aberdeen last September when they narrowly lost to England.
Both are also on the hunt for sponsorship to help them achieve their ambitions of conquering Europe.
