POWICK continued their winning streak with a comfortable victory at Pershore Manor on Saturday in the Worcester League premier division.
PERSHORE MANOR 0, POWICK 3
Powick took early control of the game and the home side were spending long periods without the ball. The midfield combination of brothers Lee and Gary Henderson alongside James Badham was proving fruitful and Powick spent most of the first-half camped around Pershore's penalty area.
The pressure told when Tim Lambeth slotted home following good work on the right. Unselfish play by leading scorer Stu Harvey set up Gary Henderson to crash the ball home and this was shortly followed by a towering header from Jamie Abba to make the score 0-3 at the break.
Changes were made shortly after the interval but this did nothing to halt the momentum of Powick, who continued to dictate play.
When rarely called into action to deal with a cross or pass back, goalkeeper Steve Newman always looked comfortable and despite having little to do, managed to keep his concentration well.
Despite chances reaching well into the double figure mark, somehow Powick were unable to add to their three goals.
There were numerous excellent performances, particularly the debut of 17-year-old Michael Pearson, who looked composed on the ball and carried a real threat.
