SMOKERS will have to kick the habit for a short while when Worcester Warriors visit relegation-threatened Leeds Tykes on Friday, February 24.
The rugby stadium at Headingley Carnegie has become a no-smoking venue following feedback from supporters.
But fans will be able to smoke in designated areas away from other supporters' viewing areas.
Chief executive Gary Hetherington said: "This is something we have been considering for a long time.
"We have done a long consultative process with our supporters and the overwhelming view is for a total ban on smoking viewing areas.
"Our season-ticket holders were asked for their opinion and we have taken their comments on board.
"We are immensely proud of our reputation as a family club and the numbers of children who visit Headingley Carnegie Stadium every match-night and parents' concerns were key in the feedback we received.
"Everyone who comes to Headingley Carnegie has the right to watch the game in a smoke free environment.
"The ban will be in place for the next Tykes game on February 24 against Worcester."
Parts of Worcester's Sixways ground are no-smoking zones, but it is allowed in other areas.
