STOURPORT face National North leaders Leek at 12.30pm on Saturday needing a positive result to keep their slim promotion hopes alive after a disappointing draw with struggling Nottingham.

Phil Lashford's men opened up a 2-0 lead but missed a host of chances to kill off Nottingham with the skipper himself the primary culprit.

Notts pulled it back to 2-2, cancelling out goals from Rob Allen and Luke Edwards, who was subsequently sin-binned for dissent.

But although Irfan Yousaf restored their advantage from their only short corner, Stourport were pegged back again late on.

The draw leaves them six points off the top two with the champions gaining automatic promotion and the second-placed side facing the National South runners-up in a play-off.

Stourport host table-toppers Leek on Saturday and visit second-placed Brooklands the following weekend.

Stourport seconds won an end-to-end clash with Birmingham by the odd goal in seven.

Marc Edwards grabbed a double and Dan Packwood and Mark Harradine also netted in the 4-3 win.

They host West Bridgeford on Saturday.

Stourport fourths kept their grip on top spot with a 4-0 win over Edgbaston. Rob Bratt, Scott Nelson, Paul Taylor and Steve Li got the goals. They visit Shrewsbury on Saturday.

Stourport fifths scheduled trip to Leek was called off.

Stourport over-40s are through to the last eight of the EH Veterans Cup after hitting Olton for six. Dave Knott hit a hat-trick and Neil Stone, Tom White and Imran Sherwani also notched during the 6-1 win.

They will host Exeter-based Isca in the quarter finals at 1pm on March 12.

Club president and team manager Roy Woster is hoping for a repeat of the form that took them into the final of the national competition three years ago.

He said: "We've got a good reputation in this cup and it would be nice to carry that on."

Kidderminster firsts slumped to their fourth defeat in a row with a 3-2 defeat to fellow strugglers Old Halesonians, despite coming from two goals down.

A brace from Andy Pocknell cancelled out two earlier goals from Old Hales, but the town team undid their good work when they conceded late on.

They still have a buffer over the bottom three and skipper Craig Pocknell insists there is no need to panic ahead of Saturday's clash with Evesham.

Kidderminster thirds remain on course for promotion after Darren Jackson bagged a brace and Paul Adams also scored in their 3-1 win over Kingswinford.

Pete Harler was the man of the match. The thirds host Market Drayton on Saturday, having walloped them 5-0 earlier in the season.

A Matt Boden hat-trick helped Chaddesley Corbett beat Atherstone Adders 3-1 in West Midlands Division Two. They travel to Stoke to take on Barlaston at 2pm on Saturday.
