KIDDERMINSTER Cobras overcame a slow start to beat West Midlands Police in the West Midlands Premier Basketball League.
They found themselves 12-4 down after four minutes after failing to deal with the shooting menace of Robin Goodwin.
But a much better defensive spell got them back into the game and they were within three points of their hosts at half-time.
The match was not pretty as the sides slugged it out but Cobras had the slight edge and moved ahead with just two minutes left.
Crucial baskets at the death from Martin Usherwood and man of the match Paul Phelps helped them seal the points and keep Kidderminster in the top four.
Quarter scores: 20-10, 6-13 (26-23), 10-13 (36-36), 17-20 (53-56).
Scorers: John Jackson 13, Mark Davis 9, Mark Bonshor 7, Roy Francis 7, Paul Phelps 7, Lester Green 5, Martin Usherwood 4, Iain Miles 2, Mark Thornhill 2.
