AN athletic Kidderminster man is set to put his best fEEt forward for charity later this year.
Kevin Eades, of Walter Nash Road, will don his trainers and join 32,000 entrants in the Flora London Marathon in April.
The 37-year-old, who has already taken part in three London Marathons, hopes to raise as much money as possible, this year, for Action Heart, a cardiac rehabilitation programme in Dudley.
The programme, which has charitable status, is close to Kevin's own heart after his father, Roy, underwent open-heart surgery at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Birmingham, 18 months ago.
He said: "The training is demanding. I've been doing a lot of running and I can do about 18 miles now, so there's a bit of work to do but I'm confident I can do it."
Mr Eades, who is a member of both Wilden and Worths Breakwells football clubs, has also joined the gym at Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre in Kidderminster in preparation for the big day. He has previously raised money for Asthma Research.
He added: "This is my fourth year and this year is extra special as my father will also be coming down to London to watch and support me."
Anyone interested in sponsoring Kevin should call him on 07815 845759. Alternatively, call Action Heart, direct, on 01384 230222.
