PEOPLE will have the chance to step back in time with a talk about a historic Kidderminster park this month.
Social historian and former vice-chairman of Kidderminster Civic Society, Chas Townley, will speak about Brinton Park at the Holy Innocents Community Hall in Foley Park at 7.30pm next Thursday.
Memories will be rekindled and photos shared at the event, while the audience will also gain an insight into the Victorian era.
Mr Townley said: "I'm particularly looking forward to listening to local people's memories of Brinton Park.
"I would also encourage people who want to participate to bring along their photographs. I do have some shots of the lake in the park, which I think disappeared in the 1960s, so it would be great to see more of these."
Wyre Forest district councillor, Nathan Desmond, responsible for community and leisure services, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity to bring the history of Brinton Park to life.
"The evening promises to be really engaging for both the people who know the park well, and for those who are perhaps new to the area or too young to remember it in the 1960s."
Places for the Brinton Park talk are limited, so early booking is recommended on Wyre Forest District Council's customer services line, 01562 732928.
