BEWDLEY Town boss Craig Payton is backing his players to prolong their unbeaten run when they travel to Wyrley Rangers - the last team to defeat them - this weekend.
Town extended their successful sequence to 11 games without loss with a five-star show against Bustleholme in the West Midlands League Premier Division last Saturday.
They were hoping to maintain their momentum against struggling Brierley Hill and Hagley in their rented home at Stourport's Walshes Meadow ground last night
And they visit fifth-placed Rangers at 2.45pm on Saturday knowing a positive result would leave them well-poised in the promotion picture.
Payton said: "They were the last team to beat us when they beat us 3-0 at Swifts back in October and they were a physical team.
"We'll make sure we play lads who can look after themselves on Saturday so we can bully them the way they bullied us.
"With the top two losing the other day it has kept us in touch up there,"added Payton who has switched his formation to an attacking 3-4-3 to accommodate all of his in-form strikers.
It worked a treat last weekend with Jamie Hart hitting a double and Chris Hough and Lewis Pountney also notching during the 5-0 bashing of Bustleholme. Steve Holt also notched in the win which kept Bewdley fourth.
It took only took six minutes for them to score with Hart getting his first with a delightful 20-yard lob.
Hart turned creator on 15 minutes to tee up Hough to nut-meg his marker and beat the keeper after a long goal kick upfield.
Pountney got in on the act on 22 minutes with a free header to the back post after good play by Hough gave Ben McCloughlin space to cross.
Holt came on as a sub mid-way through the second half and after having a shot saved by the keeper got the goal he deserved on 81 minutes after a pass from Hart.
Hart completed the scoring five minutes from time with his second and Bewdley's fifth, dusting himself down to convert a spot kick after being fouled in the box.
Bewdley Reserves were also in four-midable form as they brushed aside Bromyard to improve their mid-table position in West Midlands League Division Two.
Justin Tipper's treble put them on the path to three points with Dan Franklin also finding the net.
Chris Fellows, a new signing from Malvern, did well while the new central defensive partnership of Sam Mason and Nick Downey helping commanding keeper Aaron O'Malley keep a clean sheet.
