THE husband of a former Redditch teacher is due to appear before an American court this week charged with murdering his wife and baby daughter.

Prosecutors have argued Neil Entwistle, 27, killed Rachel Entwistle and their daughter Lillian Rose after running up huge amounts of debt.

Mrs Entwistle taught at St Augustine's Catholic High School until last summer, when she returned to the United States with her husband and nine-month-old daughter.

The bodies of her and Lillian Rose were found in their home in Massachusetts on January 22. They were shot dead on January 20, a day before Neil Entwistle left America for his parents' house in Workshop in Nottinghamshire.

The father, who agreed to be extradited last week, denies murdering the pair, and had originally claimed he had found them dead in bed.

And this week, newly-released court papers revealed Mr Entwistle had run internet searches on suicide, euthanasia, "killing people with a knife", as well as looking for escort services in Massachusetts.
