HIGH kicks, black stockings and petticoats come to Malvern Theatres next weekend when traditional French music hall show Paris Can Can springs into town.
The sexy show, inspired by Parisian nightlife, features jugglers, singers, acrobats and the Can Can dancers themselves.
Believed to originate from the streets of Paris, when working girls would perform high kicks to reveal their underwear for money, the word Can Can originally meant scandal in French.
The dance grew in popularity when it moved into ballrooms and music halls and was performed at the Moulin Rouge nightclub.
Topless dancers featured in some numbers in the show coming to Malvern Theatres when it toured worldwide, but for the UK show, the performers are wearing glamorous full costumes with just a hint of nudity.
Paris Can Can, performed by the Park Avenue Entertainment Group, shows at Malvern Theatres for one night only on Sunday, February 19, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £16 and £18 from 01684 892277.
