HAVING played poorly the week before, a change in formation and a committed performance saw Powick secure maximum points against Pershore Manor with their third win in succession.
POWICK 6, PERSHORE MANOR 1
The opening phase of the game saw neither side really take a firm grip on the proceedings and long- range efforts from both failed to trouble defences or goalkeepers respectively.
The breakthrough came for Powick in the 25th minute when a through-ball saw Stu Harvey race in and coolly stroke home past a stranded goalkeeper.
With ten minutes of the half left, a Dean Drinkwater volley from 30 yards gave Powick a comfortable cushion going into the break.
The result was effectively settled within 15 minutes of the restart as Nick Prosser grabbed a brace.
In fairness to Pershore, they never gave up and man-of-the- match Shaun Lynch was a rock at centre-half for the home side.
Powick made good use of the wide areas and it came as no surprise that excellent work from Ben Pearson saw Stu Harvey net his second goal.
Sam Dakin crashed a superb volley just wide and Dale Humphries saw a 20-yard thunderbolt tipped away by the visitors' goalkeeper.
The sixth goal came when Tim Lambeth capped a fine display with a deft header from a Dean Drinkwater corner.
The only blemish came when Powick allowed a free header from a Pershore Manor corner to find the back of the net.
