DOES your school or football club have any old football kit - shirts, shorts, socks, football boots, shin pads etc that you would like to see go to a good cause?
Paul Carpenter, Herefordshire FA's football development officer, is co-ordinating donations with a view to sending them to Lesotho with the FA when the next visit takes place.
Lesotho, landlocked within the Republic of South Africa, is one of the FA's partners under the UEFA-CAF Meridian Project, which brings together European national football associations with their counterparts in Africa.
As part of the partnership, over the last seven years, the FA has helped the Lesotho FA (LEFA) develop football largely through coaching and referee instruction programmes, as well as delivering HIV and AIDS health messages.
Mr Carpenter said: "Things we take for granted are badly needed in Lesotho. Many thanks to Bob Barnes at Ledbury Swifts and Jon Pearce at Garway Juniors, who already have collected kit to donate.
''Initially I have a deadline date of Thursday, March 9, when a representative of the FA will be in Hereford to launch our appeal for football shirts, shorts, socks, boots and shin pads.
"Please let me know if you wish to donate and if you are available for the launch."
