MALVERN Town put three straight defeats behind them and new signing Duncan Willetts got the winner on Tuesday night.

MALVERN TOWN 1, OLDBURY UNITED 0

The good news was tempered by the possible loss of Darren Bullock to a 35-day suspension, after his first-half yellow card and second-half straight red.

His sending-off on 70 minutes will be appealed by Town, who were very unhappy with the refereeing.

Ten minutes earlier, Mark Shepherd was sent-off for backchat after being booked for a late tackle and one of the Oldbury coaching staff was also dismissed in the first-half for protesting a booking.

The brigh -spot was Willetts' second-half goal, just reward for Town, who dominated and were not under pressure even when down to nine men.

Willetts got across his man to steer in Nathan Jukes' corner at the near post.

Town boss Neil Hunt said the game away at Stourbridge tomorrow (Saturday) was now massive.

"To lose three games in seven days and then see Chasetown catch nine points on you, it puts a lot of pressure on you. It's good to get a result, we needed it and I'm confident going into tomorrow's game," he said. "At the moment, we are in the driving seat, we have had our little blip, hopefully we can go on a run now."
