DIVERS have been able to retrieve parts of Bewdley Bridge's north wall that had fallen into the River Severn following a collision last week.
Two divers were able to find most of stonework from the parapet wall of the bridge, built in1798, during the search on Friday.
Julian Brown, a bridge engineer with Worcestershire County Council, said: "We retrieved as much as we could do so we can reuse the stones."
He added the council was going to get estimates for the repair work, which would be carried out as soon as possible.
A red Volvo 740 collided with the bridge, which runs into Load Street, at around midnight on Thursday, January 26.
