ART SOCIETY: At the January meeting members and guests enjoyed an evening with Robert Churchill who painted a portrait of his wife using the unusual technique and media mix of watercolour and charcoal.
The next meeting on February 15 is the AGM and social evening, open only to members and those guests who intend to join the society.
The fun painting competition is to illustrate A Song Title. Please bring a small contribution to the buffet.
U3A: Ray Leigh, formerly chairman of Gordon Russell, and Trevor Chinn, formerly chief designer, came to the Public Hall last week to talk about the history of the firm of furniture makers which used to operate in Broadway. The hall was well filled with members of U3A who thoroughly enjoyed an interesting and well-illustrated talk which ended with mention of the opening of a museum later this year.
