KIDDERMINSTER Carolians put their league troubles behind them to march into the next round of the North Mids Cup with a 17-7 victory over Shrewsbury.
The Marlpool Lane men put the previous weekend's Midlands Three West North defeat to Wednesbury behind them to produce an impressive performance.
Despite trailing to a converted try, KCs kept their heads and hit back with a farewell try for Max Bullivant in his last game for the club.
KCs were reduced to 13 men when Mat Rigsby and captain Ben Turner were both sin-binned but that did not deter the hosts.
Top scorer Eddie Ross added to his try tally to put them 10-7 up at the break, Chris Pinner scoring and converting a second half try to seal the win.
KCs hope to improve their league position at Sutton Coldfield at 2.15pm on Saturday.
KCs seconds suffered a 36-15 defeat at home to Evesham despite second-half tries from Will Whitehouse, Mark Whittard and Ben Mannion.
There was another win for the thirds who beat Evesham 21-14 with tries from John Shires, Ian Crockett and Grant Stewart and three Spencer Crockett conversions. They visit Chaddesley seconds on Saturday.
