KIDDERMINSTER Carolians under-14s progressed to the semi-final of the Plate after Newport forfeited the match - and then went on to beat their under-strength opponents.
With Newport short of players, KCs loaned them some before winning 22-17 with tries from Will Short, Charlie Evans and Patrick Williams, along with a penalty and two conversions.
The under-seven drew 35-35 and lost 35-5 in their two clashes against Luctonians. Luke Calcutt and Arthur Jones were in top form. Try scorers: Alexander Renton (3), Josh Mayo (2), Lewis Morgan (2), Kyle Ward (1).
Fine play from Tom Ford and Daniel Hill helped KCs under-eights beat Lucton 60-40. But they lost their second game 55-10. Try scorers: Elliot Murphy (5), Ford (5), Sam Faulkner (2), Ben Pinner (1) and Tom Kerrigan (1).
KCs under-13s maintained their winning run by narrowly overcoming Old Halesonians 26-22 with good performances from Craig Wassell, George Tildesley and Dan Edwards.
Chaddesley Corbett under-16s slipped out of the North Midlands Cup at the quarter final stage with a 45-15 defeat to Dudley Kingswinford.
Their tries came from Richard Fry (1) and Bobby Lawrenson (2) as they squandered an early lead.
