Littleton 2, Ettington 3
FOR the third time in their last six Midland Combination games, Littleton saw a two-goal advantage turned over as Ettington came from behind to win 3-2.
Littleton dominated the opening period and went close when a Phil Haines volley went just over, then a Simon Brain volley was scrambled clear. The hosts took the lead on 17 minutes, Paul Jones converting a penalty awarded for handball. The same player then set up Jon Gregory who converted from close range.
Ettington came out for the second half in determined fashion but Littleton's young defence coped well with debutant Jason Jones doing particularly well.
The turning point came when the Ettington manager Ed Smith brought himself on and he began to dominate proceedings. On 65 minutes he muscled his way through three challenges and crossed for Geoff Amos to score from close range.
Then on 80 minutes he was on hand to convert a cross. In the last five minutes a penalty was awarded for a tackle on Smith, which he duly converted.
Littleton are away to Newhall on Saturday, kick off 2.45pm.
