I WOULD like to publicly thank three very spirited girls and a young man who came to my aid on Saturday evening, January 21.
It followed an incident in Tesco's car park in Kidderminster when a youth opened my car door as I was about to drive away after shopping in the store.
He grabbed me, leaning over me to steal my handbag and ran off in the direction of the canal towpath.
The girls were driving away at the time but heard my cries for help and without hesitation drove back, two running off in pursuit of the thief while the other stayed with me and called the police.
The two caught up with the offender and retrieved my handbag intact.
The young man had gone to see what he could do when the police arrived.
We are quick to criticise young people today but these people responded without thought for their own safety and without them I know I would not have seen my handbag or contents again.
I thank you all once more from the bottom of my heart. I won't forget, bless you.
Also a mention must go to West Mercia Police for their meticulous attention to detail. They were helpful in every respect.
