A BIDFORD man who hunts using his goshawk was thrilled to have the bird return back home after disappearing for days without a trace.
Tom Archer, a keen pheasant hunter was reunited with his goshawk, Asbo after he went missing while chasing pheasants on Saturday, January 21.
Mr Archer who was hunting in the woods near Temple Grafton on was unable to locate his bird after he believes the radio transmitter Asbo is fitted with failed to pick up a signal.
"He was chasing some pheasants flying for about one kilometre when I lost the transmitter on his radio. I think some water may have got into the transmitter and water and electricity don't work well together, as we all know."
Mr Archer was finally reunited with his goshawk last Thursday after receiving 53 telephone calls from eye witnesses claiming to have seen the seven month old Asbo.
"I received many calls from people telling me that they thought they had seen him but only one was genuine.
"I found him six days later from half a mile away from where we were hunting, am really pleased to have him back," Mr Archer added.
